Dirceu Maués, 1968. Vive e trabalha em Brasília. Graduado em Artes Plásticas pela UnB (2012). Mestrando do Programa de pós-graduação em Arte – UnB. Atuou como fotógrafo dos principais jornaisimpressos em Belém-PA de 1997 a 2008 (O Liberal, Diário do Pará e Amazônia Jornal). Em 2003, iniciou trabalho autoral nas áreas da fotografia, cinema e vídeo, o qual têm como base pesquisas com a construção de câmeras artesanais e utilização de aparelhos precários. Participou recentemente como palestrante/ministrante de oficinas em vários festivais e seminários de fotografia (em Paraty, Montevideu, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Recife e Fortaleza e Belém). Em 2009, foi artista residente na Künstlerhaus Bethanien/Berlim pelo programa Rumos Itaú Cultural sendo também contemplado com uma Bolsa Funarte de estimulo à criação artística 2008/2009. Participou do projeto Encontros com a Fotografia – FNAC/2009. Realizou exposições individuais em Berlim, Montevideu, Katowice (Polônia), São paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Curitiba e Belém. Em 2012 foi artista residente na WBK Vrije Academie, em Haia/Holanda, resultado de uma premiação no 17º Festival Internacional de Arte Contemporânea SESC_VIDEOBRASIL. Seus trabalhos fazem parte das coleções Pirelli-Masp, FNAC, Videobrasil, MAC-PR (Museu de Arte Contemporânea – Paraná), MARP-SP (Museu de Arte de Ribeirão Preto – São Paulo), MEP-PA (Museu do Estado do Pará), Coleção Joaquim Paiva e Coleção Rubens Fernandes Jr.

Dirceu Maués graduated in Visual Arts at the University of Brasília and is taking a Master’s Degree in the Post-Graduation Program in Arts of the UnB. He worked as a photographer for the main newspapers of Belém/PA between 1997 and 2008. In 2003, he started his authorial work in the fields of photography, filmmaking and video production, based on the research done with the construction of handmade cameras and the utilization of unreliable devices. In 2009, he was a resident artist at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin through the Rumos Itaú Cultural program, also being awarded with the 2008/2009 Funarte Scholarship for the Support of Artistic Creation. Maués has held individual exhibitions in Berlin (Germany), Montevideo (Uruguay), Katowice (Poland), São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Curitiba and Belém (Brazil). In 2012 he was a resident artist at the WBK Vrije Academie in The Hague (Holland), after being awarded at the 17º Festival Internacional de Arte Contemporânea SESC_VIDEOBRASIL. His works integrate the following collections: Pirelli-Masp, FNAC, Videobrasil, MAC-PR (Museum of Modern Art, Paraná), MARP-SP (Museum of Art of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo), MEP-PA (Museum of Pará), the Joaquim Paiva Collection, and the Rubens Fernandes Jr. Collection.
