Maratona Fotográfica é um evento que irá mobilizar, durante dez dias, fotógrafos profissionais e amadores, no intuito de desenvolverem um trabalho autoral na cidade de Belo Horizonte (MG). A convocatória para os fotógrafos interessados, com até 20 vagas, é gratuita e estará aberta em breve.Serão selecionados, a partir de um edital público, até 20 fotógrafos iniciantes. Três fotógrafos profissionais convidados orientarão, cada um, 6 iniciantes em sua produção. Ao preencher a ficha de inscrição você poderá escolher o orientador de sua preferencia, mas lembramos que a equipe do FIF poderá reorganizar os fotógrafos de acordo com o número de inscritos por orientador. Os fotógrafos inscritos serão divididos em 3 grupos de acordo com o número de selecionados. As atividades de orientação serão divididas em 05 encontros entre os dias 05 e 15 de julho, pela manhã ou a tarde, de acordo com a divisão dos grupos. Cada participante deverá ter seu próprio equipamento. Durante o período da Maratona cada participantes precisará organizar seu tempo para produzir um ensaio autoral e participar dos encontros de orientação. Esses encontros se darão a partir de conversas e direcionamentos oferecidos pelos orientadores, tendo por base as imagens produzidas pelo participante ao longo da Maratona.
Os ensaios fotográficos resultantes desse processo de produção e orientação com duração de 10 dias, serão reunidos e expostos por meio de projeções na cidade de Belo Horizonte. Os eventos de projeção serão gratuitos e abertos ao público.

The Photographic Marathon is an event which will mobilize professional and amateur photographers for the duration of a week, with the intent of developing an original work in Belo Horizonte (MG). The open call for all interested artistic photographers, with up to 20 spots, is free of charge, and will stay opened in the Festival’s website until June 15th, 2013. Up to 20 amateur photographers will be selected through a public notice. Each of the three invited professional photographers will guide 6 beginners in their production process. You may choose a desired guide when filling out the application form, but we remind you that the FIF staff may rearrange the photographers according to how many attendees have applied for each guide. The registered participants will be divided in three groups, according to how many were selected. The guiding activities will be divided in five meetings between the 5th and the 15th of July, at morning or during the afternoon, according to how the groups were divided. Each attendee will need to be in possession of their own equipment. During the Marathon, each attendee will need to manage their time to produce an authorial essay and participate in the guidance meetings. These meetings will occur from conversations and orientations by the professional photographers, based on the images produced by the attendee over the course of the Marathon. The resulting photographic essays from this production and guidance process, with a duration of 10 days, will be gathered and exhibited through projections in the city of Belo Horizonte. The works exhibited through projections in public areas will be open to the public, free of charge. (the locations will be defined by the staff of the Festival).
