Alexandre Romariz Sequeira, 1961. Belém-PA. Artista plástico e fotógrafo, é Mestre em Arte e Tecnologia pela UFMG e professor do Instituto de Ciências da Arte da UFPA. Desenvolve trabalhos queestabelecem relações entre fotografia e alteriadade social, tendo participado de diversas exposições e festivais no Brasil e exterior, podendo-se destacar “Une certaine amazonie” em Paris/França; Bienal Internacional de Fotografia de Liège/Bélgica; Exposição no Centro Cultural Engramme em Quebec/Canadá; X Bienal de Havana/Cuba; Paraty em Foco 2009; FotoFestPoa 2010 e 2011; Festival de Fotografia de Recife 2010; Simpósio e exposição “Brush with Light”, na Universidade de Arte Mídia e Design de NewPort no Reino Unido, Festival Internacional de Fotografia de Pingyao/China; “Gigante pela própria natureza” em Valência na Espanha; “Geração 00 – a nova fotografia brasileira; e Projeto Portfólio no Itaú Cultural em São Paulo/Brasil. Tem obras no acervo do Museu da UFPa, Espaço Cultural Casa das 11 Janelas; Coleção Pirelli/MASP e Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Rio Grande do Sul.

Alexandre Romariz Sequeira is a visual artist and a photographer, with a Master’s degree in Art and Technology from UFMG, and is also a teacher in the Art Sciences Institute of UFPA. He develops works which establish relations between photography and social otherness, participating in many exhibitions and festivals in Brazil and overseas, of which are noteworthy Une certaine amazonie, in France; the Biennale de la Photo de Liège, in Belgium; the Engramme – Centre de Production en Estampe, in Canada; the X Bienal de la Habana, in Cuba; Paraty em Foco (2009); FotoFestPoa (2010 and 2011); the Recife Photographic Festival (2010); the symposium and exhibition Brush with Light, at the Newport Art, Design & Media University, in the United Kingdom; the Pingyao International Photography Festival, in China; Gigante pela própria natureza, in Valencia, Spain; Geração 00 – a nova fotografia brasileira; and the Projeto Portfólio in the Itaú Cultural Institute in São Paulo. He also has works included in the collection of the UFPA Museum, at the Cultural Centre Casa das 11 Janelas; the Pirelli/MASP collection and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil.
